A SAMA nomination for Kommanda

Lesotho’s Kommanda Obbs have been nominated in this years’ South African Music Awards (SAMAs) under the Rest of Africa category.

The Mabelebele hit maker made an ecstatic post on Facebook fan-page about his nomination.

The muso last year was nominated for the Metro FM awards last year with his song Ke Tauwe Fu featuring South African rapper Stogie T.

Kommanda has been waving Lesotho’s flag very high, giving himself no time for rest in South Africa.

He has also recently worked on a single with Nigerian singer Eme titled Hure.

After the release of his self-titled album, Kommanda Obbs, he has been interviewed in different media outlets in South Africa.

On this 25th anniversary of the SAMAs, Kommanda is up against big names such as Diamond Platinumz, Mr Eazi, Nixon and the late legendary Oliver Mtukuzi.

The nomination has opened a lot of doors for the D2amajoe founder as he got a radio interview with Phat Joe on Radio 2000.

Kommanda has also been featured in the line-up at the Bassline Fest to be hosted on 25 May in Johannesburg where he will be performing alongside big names in the continental platform such as Asa and Mr Eazi who are both from Nigeria.

Hosted by RiSA, the South African Music Awards is a premier music showcase that is held annually. The SAMAs have been argued to be the best awards ceremony as it honours South African and rest of Africa’s finest musical talents. The event is which is reaching a quarter of a century in existence will be aired live on SABC 1 Television station at 8PM on 2 June 2019.
