Vodacom Premier League (VPL) outfit, Bantu FC are on the verge of signing former Chippa United player, Maloisane Ramasimong, after obtaining his international transfer certificate (ITC) from the South Africa Football Association (SAFA).

ITC is a certificate provided from one national association to another to facilitate the transfer of a player between different countries.

Ramasimong, who is currently unattached to any club, is also a former Bantu player having donned their famous black and yellow colours from 2016 to 2018, during which he was named the league’s player of the season in the 2017/18 campaign.

The South African midfielder has also played for other clubs such as Chippa United and Bloemfontein Celtic in his home country.

Bantu has been active this transfer window having already extended the contract of its captain, Mkwanazi Mkwanazi, by two more years.

The club has previously spoken about the need to sign more players to strengthen its firepower upfront.

A Matso Matebele’s spokesperson, Pule Mosoati, told Newsday this week that they have secured Ramasimong’s ITC, and we are currently awaiting to receive more.

“We are making progress in the transfer window having already extended Mkwanazi’s contract by two years,” Mosoati said.

“We have also secured ITC for Ramasimong, but we are yet to sign him as our player. We hope to make an official announcement on our transfer dealings in the coming days.”

He said they hoped to sign more international players before the transfer window closes on January 31.

“Ramasimong is not the only foreign-based player we are targeting as we are awaiting ITCs for other players.”

Having played for Celtic at the youth level, Ramasimong re-joined the club’s senior side on a two-year deal after leaving Bantu in 2018. He then joined Chippa United in September 2020.
