The illustrious Mafeteng side, Bantu Football Club (FC) has prolonged its fourth unbeaten streak in the Vodacom Premier League (VPL) after trouncing Quthing outfit, Liphakoe FC 2-0 last weekend.

The A Mats’o Matebele, as the team is affectionately known, guns for its fifth premier league trophy and hopes to stretch the supremacy until the end of the contest thanks to the striker Motlomelo Mkhwanazi and TÅ¡eliso Mahola who found the back of the net to help the club collect three points on the road.

Bantu is in the lead with 26 points and a goal difference of 20 ahead of the runners-up Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) FC that drags behind with 24 points with 23 goals, while the Leribe based Linare FC recorded 22 points registering only 13 goals.

In an exclusive interview with Bantu FC Spokesperson, Pule Mosoati, Bantu has passed the toughest test to go past the league champions

Matlama FC and LCS FC, while prepping to collide with Linare FC and Teyateyaneng giants Lioli FC which will determine their continuing reign on the log table in the first leg.

“History is going to repeat itself like back in 2018/2019 season when we set a record of winning the league with many points and a gap of goal difference.

“We have prepared enough and continue to prepare our team further. We are eying CAF (Confederation of Africa Football) next season,” Mosoati explained.

He indicated that the goal difference set by LCS FC does not scare them as they will multiply it from this weekend’s clash with Morija based Machokha FC.

Mosoati said the team has regained its momentum, form and shape coach along with the management needs it to be.

Meanwhile, Matlama FC Spokesperson, Themba Talane, explained that the team has not been playing well due to internal problems with the players and coaches, however, with the new Head Coach, Halemakale Mahlaha, Assistant Coach Mosito Matela and Goalkeeper Coach Robert Khomo they are hoping for the best.

“Our players did not understand the philosophies and strategies of the previous coaches hence we had to let them go so we can start with the new coaches to prepare our team back to its log leader position,”

“The players have gone through the mental and physical trainings and assessments. They are getting along well with the coaches and hopefully we will get back to the top three before the first leg ends,” Talane said.

Spectators are set to expect thrilling action this weekend when Naughty Boys FC goes head to head with the relegation threatened CCX FC at Leshoboro Stadium on Saturday.

Galaxy FC will collide with Matlama FC at Maputsoe DIFA, while Butha-Buthe’s Lifofane tussle it off with Lioli FC in Butha-Buthe and Manonyane FC will play against LDF FC at Nyakosoba Ground.

On Sunday November 27, 2022 Liphakoe FC will welcome Lijabatho at LCS Ground. LCS FC will be aiming to close the top margin as they host Linare FC at LCS Ground while praying for log leaders, Bantu FC, to fall on their sword in a battle against Machokha at Bambatha TÅ¡ita and Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) FC will host Swallows FC at PTC Ground.
