The annual Corporate Challenge has unveiled new challenges for this year’s episode pencilled for October 3 at Maseru Mall.
Event organising company, Blackmix Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Manisha Black, divulged that apart from 19 obstacles there will be Beach Football as well as Beach Volleyball to add the flavour of the one day event.
“We have added a few challenges to this year’s chapter; we are going to have a Beach Football, Beach Volleyball and Human fools-ball. Competitors must heed to a change in the obstacle course, which is going to take 2.9km as opposed to 2.2km,†she said.
Black further noted that in a quest to promote healthy lifestyle, the seventh edition will experience the presence of Chicken frying guru company, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) as well as Elizabeth Glaser Paediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF).
She stated that there will be 750 participators to partake in the event; corporate challenge is an annual team building event which promotes a healthy lifestyle through fitness and friendly competition. The event is also designed to disturb the daily mundane office routine, but rather boost company staff morale and improve communication amongst its employees.
Since its inauguration in 2013, the event has grown from 300 to almost 700 participants.
KFC Lesotho Region Manager, Trymore Machino, stated that his company will be introducing the new healthy breakfast during the event. He further stated that they will participate with two teams.
“Our aim is to ensure that KFC is seen and recognised everywhere around the country, we are happy to be a part of this amazing event and we are more privileged,†he said.
“We support healthy lifestyle as we have more meals like steak and twisters. We are looking forward to being a part of this event for a long term, we are going to have a promotion where customers buy a meal and stand a chance to be a part of our customer team. KFC is going to participate with two teams; KFC customers’ team and staff team,†he said.
“We are also going to introduce a new breakfast on the day for our customers,†he said.
EGPAF Communications Specialist, Makopano Letsatsi, indicated that they would be providing counselling and cancer scanning for free at the event.
“We are going to provide free HIV testing, test and treat using daily pill called prep which prevents HIV, cancer scanning as well as cervical cancer. Prevention is better than cure and I urge Basotho to take heed as we will be providing all these for free,†she said.
