Standard bank unveils new CEO

The board of directors of financial services giant Standard Lesotho Bank, has announced the appointment of Anton Nicolaisen as the new Chief Executive Officer of the bank effective from the first day of this month. The appointment of Nicoilasen follows the untimely demise of Kenrick Cockerill, who succumbed to illness on October 20, 2020.

In a statement released by the bank Board this week, Standard Lesotho Bank lauds Nicolaisen as a veteran banker who is more than capable to take on the baton and lead the financial institution to glory, owing to his vast experience in the banking field.

“Mr Nicolaisen has a successful 32-year career history with the Standard Bank group. He fulfilled a number of key leadership roles within the Bank and has proven skills and abilities to lead a financial services Organisation in the stature of Standard Lesotho bank. In his previous appointment, Mr Nicolaisen was the provincial head, client coverage at Standard Bank South Africa, responsible for Free-State and Northern Cape provinces. We look forward to fully tapping his leadership skills to enhance our customer experience,” read the statement.

The Board went on to also extend its sincere appreciation to Thabiso Tsenki, who held fort in acting capacity during the recruitment process for the substantive Chief Executive was underway.

Nicolaisen becomes the Bank’s fifth non-Mosotho white Chief Executive of Standard Lesotho Bank Lesotho, while the bank has only had one Mosotho Chief Executive.
