Seboche Mission Hospital today halted its operations after one of its employees tested positive for SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19).
The tests that were undertaken at the hospital saw two other patients testing positive for the global pandemic.
When speaking with Newsday, Sister Callixtina Maepa, the Nurse in charge at Seboche, confirmed that the hospital stopped its operations today.
She indicated that the Hospital has an isolation block where COVID-19 patients and suspects are kept like at other hospitals.
“The two patients have a travel history from South Africa and they had come to the hospital for other health services and not because they suspected something nor did they have signs of COVID-19,†she said.
“Because we have registered positive cases, the hospital management has therefore, for the purposes of contact tracing and screening, effected temporary suspension of services in order to ensure safety of all other employees and the general public until further notice,†she affirmed.
Seboche Mission Hospital is a non-profit Roman Catholic health institution, owned by the Diocese of Leribe.
It is one of nine health facilities that fall within the jurisdiction of the Christian Health Association of Lesotho (CHAL)
